Hello. I am interested in finding someone, preferably deaf, who can help me out with my sign language. I currently live in the Green Lake area, in Seattle, WA. I am currently in my first quarter of ASL and I love it. I must admit that I don't know much, but i am very willing to learn. I would like someone to sign with and to help me out. I am very interested in ASL and deaf culture. I would also like to be an interpreter, but I realize I have a ways to go before I get to that point. I would also like to thank my current ASL teacher Mizzy Gietz for being so incredibly awesome. If anyone knows her, you know how wonderful she is. Hi. What a terrific website you have! I am very interested in the deaf and hard of hearing community. Just about 2 months ago, I started teaching myself ASL. So right now I only know about 30 signs. I know I have a ways to go, but hope to someday go to college and become an American Sign Language Interpreter. I can't attend college now, but am hopeful to start attending by fall of 2003. (husband is in the Coast Guard and we may be leaving here in Jan 2003) So for now, I am going to teach myself all I can. I am also interested in volunteering somewhere. I am also interested in meeting someone from the deaf and/or hard of hearing community, to sign with, so I can learn so much more! Also, if you are a hearing individual and would like to learn together, I would be interested in that too! I live in the Seattle, WA area. Take care!

I teach ASL at Auburn-Riverside HS in Auburn, WA. My students have recently organized a weekly activity called, "Silent Dinners" at the Auburn SuperMall. We would love more people to join us, and enjoy socializing, meeting new people, eating dinner or a snack together. Sign Language only - no voicing! These occur every Tues. evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. We meet in the food court, near the Merry-Go-Round and the Cinnabon store. Hope to see some new faces soon - spread the word!! Thanks!
